New leaks suggest that the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor could bring a significant improvement in graphics performance, making it one of the most powerful smartphone chips released so far.
The information comes from well-known Chinese tech tipster Digital Chat Station, who shared the details on Weibo. While the post didn’t reveal specific benchmarks, it hinted that the next-generation Adreno GPU will deliver impressive gaming capabilities.
Strong Performance in Graphics-Heavy Games
According to the leak, the new GPU inside the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be capable of running Genshin Impact smoothly at native 1080p resolution.
Genshin Impact is widely known as one of the most demanding mobile games, often requiring users to reduce graphics settings or resolution even on flagship smartphones to maintain stable performance. If the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 can handle the game smoothly at full resolution, it would mark a noticeable step forward in mobile gaming performance.
Development Ahead of Schedule
The report also suggests that development of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is progressing faster than expected. Because of this, Qualcomm is reportedly planning to introduce the chip shortly after China’s National Day on October 1.
First Phones with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4
Several flagship smartphones are expected to debut with the new chipset soon after its announcement. According to earlier rumors, the Xiaomi 15 could be one of the first devices powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, possibly launching in mid-October.
Other brands such as iQOO and OnePlus are also expected to release flagship phones using the new processor shortly after.
With improved GPU power and next-generation architecture, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 could deliver better gaming performance, enhanced graphics, and more efficient power management, making it a major upgrade for upcoming Android flagship devices.
