OnePlus has officially announced the release of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 12. Scheduled to launch on December 4 in Shenzhen, China, this marks the company’s 10th-anniversary celebration.
OnePlus 12: What to expect
The OnePlus 12 is rumored to include a 6.82-inch X1 “Oriental” LTPO OLED panel boasting a resolution of 1,440 x 3,168 pixels and a peak brightness reaching up to 2,600 nits. This innovative display is reportedly a collaborative effort between BOE and OnePlus. Additionally, the smartphone will debut its inaugural imaging engine chip, the Display P1.
The OnePlus 12 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a confirmation from both companies. This chipset incorporates the Kryo CPU, featuring five gold cores and a novel 1-5-2 microarchitecture. It delivers a 30% enhancement in performance and a 20% increase in power efficiency. Moreover, the Adreno GPU contributes to a 25% improvement in both performance and power efficiency. The chipset also facilitates Wi-Fi 7 and dual Bluetooth connectivity through FastConnect 7800.
Speculations suggest that the smartphone could offer a maximum of 24GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. Additionally, it is anticipated to feature a 5400mAh battery supporting 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. The device is rumored to support 100W charging. In China, it is expected to run on Android 14-based ColorOS 14, while in other markets, the smartphone will likely ship with OxygenOS 14.

Sony’s latest offering, the OnePlus 12, will boast a new 48MP dual-layer stacked Lytia 808 primary sensor and a 1/2.0-inch 64MP OV64B sensor equipped with a telephoto lens capable of delivering 3x optical zoom.
