Google Bard is receiving an update. This AI chatbot will display responses in real-time, creating the impression of faster response times. ChatGPT already provides this feature. Large language models (LLMs) don’t deliver instant responses, likely due to background processes, resulting in a delay between input and output. Google is now presenting two methods for users to obtain answers from Bard.
How to access response delay setting
Navigate to the upper-right corner in Open Bard and click on the settings. In the settings menu, users can select one of two options: “Respond once complete” or “Respond in real time.”
If “Respond in real time” is selected, Bard will generate the response to the query line by line. While there will be a brief waiting period initially, once Bard begins composing the response, users can read it as it appears in the answer box.
The benefit of this choice is that if users find the response unsatisfactory, they can utilize the “Skip response” button located above the text field to halt Bard’s response and make refinements to the query for the desired outcome. It’s important to note that this will be the default setting for Bard.
In the “Respond once complete” mode, Bard will display a sparkling star, and once the response is generated, it will appear in the response box.
Other Bard features
In the previous week, Bard received two new enhancements. With the Workspace Extension, Bard can now summarize a larger number of emails simultaneously. Additionally, it has improved its ability to comprehend requests for recent emails, according to Google.
The second update involves the inclusion of support for uploaded images in shared conversations. Google Bard now provides more visual results, including photos. When sharing a conversation that includes an image as part of the prompt, the image will now be visible as well.
