The smartphone brand iQOO recently introduced the iQOO Neo9 and iQOO Neo9 Pro in China, and the company has confirmed that the Neo9 Pro will launch in India in February. However, the Indian variant will come with a different processor than the model sold in China.
According to information revealed on Amazon India’s promotional page, the Indian iQOO Neo9 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, rather than the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 processor used in the Chinese Neo9 Pro.
This change strongly suggests that the Indian version of the Neo9 Pro could actually be a rebranded version of the Chinese iQOO Neo9. iQOO has followed a similar strategy before — the iQOO Neo7 Pro launched in India last year was essentially a rebranded iQOO Neo7 Racing Edition, which was originally released only in China.
If the Indian Neo9 Pro is indeed based on the Chinese Neo9, it is expected to include a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2800 × 1260 pixels. The device will likely run Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14 and may offer configurations with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.
In terms of battery performance, the smartphone is expected to feature a 5,160 mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging, allowing the device to charge extremely quickly.
For photography, the phone will reportedly include a triple camera setup, consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
It remains unclear whether iQOO plans to introduce the Chinese iQOO Neo9 Pro model (with the Dimensity 9300 chip) in India later under a different name. If that happens, the company could possibly launch it as a new model such as the Neo9 Ultra, though no official confirmation has been given yet.
More details about the Indian launch, pricing, and availability are expected to be announced closer to the official release date.
