A recent report suggests that Apple’s forthcoming iPhone 15 might adopt a stacked battery design, a common feature in electric vehicles. According to a seasoned leaker known as RGcloudS on Twitter, the upcoming iPhone models, set to be released in September, may incorporate a battery arrangement where the components are stacked vertically.
Such a design could result in battery components being compactly arranged, potentially providing the new iPhones with increased energy density.
A prior report from ITHome indicated that these upcoming iPhones might see a battery life improvement of up to 15 percent.
Numerous experts have indicated that battery packs represent a domain where Apple can further explore and innovate.
Although cameras and display screens have shown significant improvements over the years, battery life across models has only seen marginal enhancements.
The current progress in battery life for the iPhone 14 is also not as noteworthy as the improvements observed in the previous iPhone 13 model.
Nevertheless, the leaker emphasized that the new battery technology design for the iPhone 15 is described as “constrained,” suggesting that it might not be fully integrated when the devices are released to the public.
