An examination of LinkedIn profiles in the tech industry indicates that a majority of former Apple employees lean towards joining Google. The Switch on Business team examined LinkedIn profiles of employees from several tech companies. Their initial search focused on determining the current workforce count at Google (Alphabet), Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, IBM, Tesla, Oracle, Netflix, Nvidia, Salesforce, Adobe, Intel, and Uber.
For every pair of companies, the team conducted searches for employees currently employed at each tech giant who had previously worked at the other company in the seed list. Subsequently, they calculated the quantity and percentage of existing employees at each tech giant with prior experience at other tech giants. The comprehensive dataset enabled them to present detailed breakdowns of the prevalent career pathways among tech giants.
