Earlier this year, at WWDC, Apple unveiled Vision Pro, its inaugural spatial computing gadget. Despite its planned US-only release next year, global developers have eagerly been crafting apps for it. Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, disclosed his regular use and completion of Ted Lasso’s third season on Vision Pro. In a recent interview with The Independent, Cook provided additional insights into Apple’s spatial computing device.
The dawn of a fresh computing age
Cook expressed to the publication his belief that Vision Pro has the potential to inaugurate a revolutionary era in computing, much like the iPhone did in 2007, transforming the way people communicate and work.
The Apple CEO mentioned that Vision Pro has seamlessly integrated into his daily routine and has the potential to become a product that sets industry standards. Cook elaborated, saying, “People’s perspectives vary greatly depending on whether they’ve read about it or experienced it firsthand. I have even greater conviction about the profound impact of spatial computing. Once you’ve tried it, it’s a revelation, and those moments are few and far between in one’s lifetime,” he shared with The Independent.
While Apple introduced Vision Pro, it’s important to note that the device is still undergoing development. However, it holds the promise of being a groundbreaking device that could transform how we engage with both computers and our surroundings. Vision Pro boasts an ultra-high-resolution display system featuring 23 million pixels distributed across two displays. Additionally, it incorporates a cutting-edge R1 chip for real-time environmental perception and an advanced Spatial Audio system for a fully immersive auditory experience.
