Currently focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Microsoft extends AI features to Windows 11’s Photos app. Tech giant introduces AI magic for blurring, removing, and replacing backgrounds in images, with the ability to save in .png format, as reported by WindowsLatest.
The latest build of the Windows Insider Program Canary channel is introducing the new AI magic feature in the Photos app.
This isn’t the inaugural instance of Microsoft incorporating AI into photo-related functionalities. The recent addition of the background removal feature in the Paint app bears resemblance to its implementation in the Photos app. The AI discerns the object, body, and face of a human or animal, subsequently eliminating the background and retaining only the foreground in the image.
The recently introduced AI-powered functionalities are seamlessly integrated into the Edit menu of the Photos app. Upon clicking or tapping, users are directed to the photo editing screen, where they can access the Blur, Remove, and Replace options.
Furthermore, users can adjust the blur intensity and brush size for customization.
It’s noteworthy that the latest features in the Photos app are currently being introduced in beta through the Windows Insider Program Canary channel. These features are integrated into the Microsoft Photos app version 2023.11110.8002.0 and are available for download through the Microsoft Store.
